Spartacus is a tv series produced by Starz. Created by Steven S. DeKnight in 2010. Spartacus is based around the bygone account of “Spartacus”. The tv series follow Spartacus, a Thracian warrior who is captured and sold to Lentulus Batiatus the owner of a gladiatorial school. Spartacus trains to become a gladiator and eventually becomes the champion of Capua. Spartacus and a group of gladiators of House Batiatus plan a major slave uprising that rock the Roman Republic to the core. The series was well received by the audience and critics and is one of starz most successful tv series.
The Spartacus costume we will be focusing on will the costume that was worn by Andy Whitfield, an actor who played Spartacus in the first season, who sadly is no longer with us. I will include all the items to this costume below along with descriptions and links as well.
Spartacus costume leather armour
For the Spartacus costume leather armour, I got on Etsy. This is a handmade piece so please allow adequate time for the seller to make and ship it and don’t forget to include your measurements. It is made from genuine leather that feels fantastic. The seller offers the armour in different colours as well. A great piece that screams quality, perfect for a Spartacus cosplay!!
Leather armour kidney belt
For the Spartacus costume leather armour kidney belt, I also found on etsy. This is also a handmade item that is crafted beautifully. It is made from genuine leather, you can tell this straight away when you touch it for the first time. it takes two weeks to make so order it in plenty of time for your next event. It is also available in various colours.
Gladiator sword set
The Gladiator sword set, I got on amazon. A great cosplay piece but nothing more. They seem very flimsy and not the best quality. The sheath was quite poor two, I really wouldn’t recommend these but I could find a better alternative.
Leather wrist cuff
For the leather wrist cuff, I got on Etsy. This is a custom made item. It is made from genuine Italian leather with a dark brown finish. I never purchased these so I can’t comment on the quality but the seller has received positive feedback on their custom leather items they have so I can only assume these are of the same quality.
To finish of the Spartacus costume, I found some roman style boots for sale on Etsy. These are military style boots from the late 4th century. the boots are outstanding quality made from the highest quality materials.
